First Council Casino Waterpark
A new indoor water park that is under development by the Red Rock-based Otoe-Missouria Tribe is scheduled to open on February 25,2019 The project was originally scheduled to be complete by December 2018. Last March, the tribe announced it had plans to diversify the offerings at the 7 Clans First Council Casino and Hotel north of Newkirk. The Otoe-Missouria Development Authority hired a Chief Financial Officer from Great Wolf Lodge and set out to expand on the adult-centric entertainment offered at its casino and concert venue in the hopes of creating a destination that the entire family can enjoy.
The plan included adding suite-style rooms to the hotel along with several new restaurants, an arcade and a 20,000-square-foot indoor water park with a 329-foot lazy river. The complex now includes the Beachfront Hotel, which offers conventional hotel rooms and suites near the casino, and the Oceanside Hotel, which includes family-friendly suites in a variety of configurations, including some with bunk beds in a separate room, and is adjacent to the water park.
Prices for the new hotel range from $239.99 for an Oceanside Bunk Suite to $319 for an Oceanside Grande Suite with two bedrooms and a living and dining area. A tribal spokesperson says the planned improvements were concentrated in the hotel area because the casino was updated just a few years ago. Otoe-Missouria Chairman John R. Shotton said that the additions are part of the tribe’s plan to make its Newkirk facility the top entertainment destination in North Central Oklahoma. “Building upon our outstanding gaming and hotel facilities as well as our unique concert venue, we look forward to offering even more entertainment options to our patrons and their families,” said Shotton. “The expansion will provide a family entertainment experience unlike any other in our region.”

We stayed at the 7 Clans Casino Hotel for 3 days/2nights. Overall we where not impressed. We went for both a family vacation to visit the waterpark and do a little gambling. Waterpark- was amazing, tons of fun and we enjoyed this, especially the kids. Getting a wrist band for the waterpark was a disaster. They are extremely strickt when booking.
